March 14 9am to 4pm
Goosebay is pleased to announce that we are once again hosting a Lie-Nielsen Hand Tool Event on March 13 & 14, 2020. This event is part of the company’s ongoing international program to expose woodworkers of all ages and skill levels to the benefits of traditional hand tools and techniques.
We will also be hosting several guest demonstrators. The list is not yet complete, but Tom McLaughlin of Epic Woodworking has confirmed for both days, as has the Wooden Boat School of Brooklin, Maine. Gary Wood of Gary R Wood & Co is confirmed for Saturday. The Guild of NH Woodworkers will give a series of demonstrations over the 2 days – we’ll update with more information when their schedule is set. In addition we will be giving tours of our facility (please wear appropriate footwear.) We will post updates as we have more information.
There is no charge to attend this event. As founder and president Thomas Lie-Nielsen says: “We started these events to expose more woodworkers to the improvements in quality, environment, and enjoyment that hand tool work can offer, and over the past decade we’ve seen their popularity explode with new and experienced woodworkers alike. Incorporating traditional tools and methods can offer even die-hard machinery users ways to bring their work to the next level. The fact that our tools don’t require earplugs or respirators just adds to the appeal.”
Lie-Nielsen will be bringing their entire tool line. You are welcome to give them a try. Educators will be on hand to answer your questions and to give demonstrations of tool setup, us, and sharpening. Visitors are encouraged to get hands on and ask questions.
