This Guanacaste Live Edge Round is a cross section cut of the trunk of a Guanacaste tree. It is smooth and relatively symmetric, with a uniform grain.
Guanacaste, which is also known as Parota, is a wood from Central America. Because of the size of its trunk, Guanacaste is often sawn into large slabs, such as the one shown. It is a much less dense wood than most of the tropical woods, meaning that it is less heavy than it may appear.
This slab is 4 inches thick with a diameter ranging from 39 to 49 inches.
