Cocobolo

Cocobolo (Dalbergia retusa) is a Latin-American rosewood that ranges in color from a deep brownish-red to a brighter reddish-orange/yellow, depending on where it was harvested. The darker-colored wood is usually found more in the north, such as in Mexico, and the more brightly colored wood is usually harvested further south toward Nicaragua.

Cocobolo is preferred among musical instrument and furniture makes due to its density and unique color variations.

Because of it’s scarcity, Cocobolo prices have been on the rise, but we are still able to get 4/4 and 8/4 lumber, as well as turning squares, though our stock is limited.
