Rosewood, East Indian Turning Stock
East Indian Rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia) is native to India, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia, and is preferred for the crafting of acoustic guitar bodies.
It has a rich golden to purplish brown and can have darker or lighter streaking. It is a dense wood that may have spots of chalky residue that can dull tools. However, it is considered to work and turn nicely.
