Holly

Holly (Ilex opaca) comes from the Eastern United States. It has a pale white color with virtually no visible grain pattern, but knots are common. A bluish/gray fungal stain may develop if not dried rapidly after cutting.

Holly has an interlocked grain, a uniform texture, and mild to moderate natural luster. Holly can be difficult to work, but generally glues, stains, and finishes well.
