Leopardwood (Roupala montana) comes from Central and South America. It is a medium to dark red-brown and has a unique leopard-like flecking.

Leopardwood is a dense wood with a coarse but straight grain. It can be difficult to work with and is prone to tear-outs, but it glues and finishes well.
