Angelique (Naval Decking)

Angelique was first used on US air craft carriers during World War II due to the Teak supply shortage from the lack of trade with Asia at the time. It’s a great, lower cost alternative to Teak or Ipe decking, and is actually a stronger wood than Teak, and just as highly resistant to decay and resistant to marine borer attack.

Angelique typically comes in 5/4 x 6″, 1 x 4″, 1 x 6″, but occasionally comes in larger sizes.
