Maple, Soft Curly (Tiger)

Soft Curly Maple, or Tiger Maple, is a grain pattern that comes from the Acer family. Soft Curly Maple’s figure is a soft striping effect that resembles the stripes of a tiger.

As one of the densest and most durable of US hardwoods, Maple is used for projects intended to be heavily used for many years, such as furniture, flooring, and cabinetry.

Because of its unique look, Curly Maple is often used for musical instruments, often called Fiddle Maple or Fiddleback Maple in colonial times, a term that is still used today.
